Getting over Covid was a struggle. The tiredness that would suddenly wash over me. No interest in things I would normally be interested in. No desire to cook or even think what I could cook let alone find a recipe. Coughing and spluttering that seemed to go on for weeks Not able to garden, read, sew or do any Art. Felt that life had stopped.
Really needed to see my Family. My big Sister has Dementia and it is hard talking to her on the phone. Not quite up to driving to Melbourne. Francis announced he was going to Melbourne and he would drop me off at her place. Perfect. Got in touch with her husband and they were going to be home. It did me good to see her and I am Sure she was pleased to see me.
Weekend we drove to Kilsyth for a Christmas Dinner with Car Club, we went in the Sunbeam Rapier. Lovely to go in but it was a stinking hot day, so hot and noisy .I wanted to see my kids and grandkids and didn't think I would be able to do it. Francis reassured me it would be fine in my car.
Come Wednesday morning around 9am I set off to drive to Lilydale. All going smoothly till got off the Bolte Bridge. Traffic was so slow around the Zoo. Finally got to Lilydale to pick Matt my son up. off to Coldstream to pick Brayden up. Saw Shayla my grandaughter and Boris her Dog, a gorgeous Staffy. Then off to Coldstream Brewery for a lovely lunch. It did me good to see them enjoying the huge schnitzels they chose. really nice food and staff at Coldstream Brewery.
After lunch we headed to the old Lilydale Cemetery. Brayden is really interested in family history and we had a good look around. I was able to find some of the graves and explain his relations passed. We will do more of that another time. Back to Coldstream to drop Brayden off. Pick Shayla up and go and meet Tash to go to the movies to see Mrs Harris goes to Paris. A lovely simple movie with lots of life lessons in it. Good to see Karl and Pete. I stayed the night at Tasha's place, a good sleep, lots of things to look at then lunch at Bayswater Chinese . Then eventually headed off home at the wrong time. Traffic bad. A real crawl over the West Gate Bridge. But happy I had achieved what I wanted to do.
I had a lovely time albeit not long enough but I am more energetic now and will do it again soon. I am so proud of my Kids and Grandchildren and Love them to Bits.
Rita had a few hospital visits before Christmas. She had turned 93. we went to friends house for Christmas Dinner, which was very nice. I think we were both burned out. Didn't celebrate Christmas for the first time. No tree or lights. No cooking. No decorating the house .But next year we will surely make up for it. I have got my energy back and chipping away at the garden. Can I say " All Is Well In My World"
The Christmas Lillies were so beautiful and made the house smell delicious.
