The Kitchen Renovation

Used the existing hand made cupboards, benches and tiles with Francis painting skills. What a difference it makes to work in. Because iI am having so much trouble getting my photos in the order I want, I have not dared to put before photos up. I used to have no trouble at all with my last computer. i will carry on and hopefully make it all look a bit more professional next post.

Love my kitchen and love cooking in it. A farmhouse sink with a dish drawer washer underneath would be nice but dont want to loose the painted look.

Because A Little Bug Went Ka Chew

It all started when i saw this beaker, instantly knowing it was the colors i wanted to paint the kitchen.
Now you are asking. What has this got to do with sneezing bugs.
remember the children book. Because of this, this happened.......
Well, we went to live by the beach in Franks Mum and Dads house after his Dad passed away. Rita, his Mum moved back in the same day as us. we both had lots of stuff. Things are happening slowly, but we are getting there. Every bit is an improvement after the teething problems.
I think I want to show you the kitchen Reno

RED HOT BOOTS

I have been doing hairdressing at an aged care facility. I love it and love making people happy. I was talking to the girls and telling them about some red boots i saw and commented how i loved them. The lady whose hair I was doing, quietly spoke to me and looked me in the eye and said. "Norma, buy the red boots. Life is short, Enjoy"
Today I went and bought them.
I think they have a 60's heel.
I think I have already started to plan a new wardrobe around them. They are so me!

It has been quite a day. Awake far too early. Ended up staying in bed and catching up on a bit of sleep. A bit slow when I did wake up. Did some slow necessary things then headed for the shops. Decided what to make for dinner.
Chicken Tandoori. Basmati Rice with butter, coriander, sultanas, cashew nuts and a bit of Tandorri sauce. Bananas with a touch of lemon and shredded coconut. Papadams, Naan Bread, Riati and some Vegetable Samosas
Absolutely Splendiferous

Labour Day Weekend......Part 2

Having a spot of trouble with the ipad uploading photos......

Just a few more lovlies

Labour Day weekend

Well.....I love to start with Well!,,,    Friday night started off pretty quiet. All Cool!  We had Fish and Chips and Scallops for dinner.  Relaxed and watched American Beauty, then Dirty Harry. Slept well, then up early to Meet Gary and Sue for a reconnaissance drive for an outing for the BMC / Leyland Club. Sue had booked us all into Rose City Motel at Benalla. I had stayed there, I always say 100 years ago as we took my Mum and Dad to my sisters engagement party in Wangaratta. I was about 17 and was so in love with my red patent leather shoes. The first pair of red shoes. The Red shoes Mum bought me for my first hairdressing interview. My Mum. Such a quiet Lady. Red was her favourite colour. She even had the ceiling painted red in the kitchen, with of course the red and white, with a touch of gray Laminex table and chairs. All very brave as it was not a colour that Italians would let their daughters wear. I could never imagine the start of the red shoes and stories read later...Got off the track there.
We arrived at Benalla after a short stop at Swanpool. Decided on lunch at the Bakery. Went to the motel for a short rest, then off to the pub for dinner.  We then headed back to Swanpool to the Cinema. A 1950's style CINEMA showing the best classic films from silents to recent releases.

A fantastic theatre. We saw Paper Planes.  Then Intermission  and St. Vincent. I enjoyed them both. Some good lessons in both of them.  Very inexpensive night out. We intend going back again with the club on a club run.
Had a lovely sleep, got up early for the next part of the weekend.
Sunday.    Off to Phillip Island for CLASSIC Festival of Motorsport.

Some of the lovelies.......

DAY OUT WITH A FRIEND

I was very fortunate to be taken to Village Gold Class at Westfield to see THE 100 FOOT JOURNEY.  Spoilt rotten to be precise. Possibly a "girlie" movie. But. Having said that more like a feel good movie. Loved the food passion and how a recognisable gift and talent could be recognised by family and out of disaster, a vision and openness  became true. The food, the colour, the scenery......yep, the lot

Probably touched on one of our dreams.

And the company of Alicia, her generosity, the lovely food and drinks.....pretty special
